Day 57 – Wellington.

We didn’t end up leaving Dan’s house until around midday but instead of getting a taxi we decided to embrace the 50minute walk back to the hostel, which took us through the Botanic Gardens. The gardens cover 25 hectares and it is a protected native forest. We walked through the Lady Norwood Rose Garden, which was an added addition back in 1950. It was beautiful but we did go the slightly longer route so we didn’t have to walk up hills.

Once arriving at the hostel we still had to wait an hour to check in so we decided to go and grab some lunch in Nandos because we had walked past it on the way there. It wasn’t anywhere near as good as the UK and to be honest it was quite disappointing which is probably a good thing as it means I won’t want another one. We then went and checked in and made our way back out just to walk around town. We then went to the supermarket to get dinner and lunch for the next day. Also opposite from where we are staying is the Embassy Theatre, which is where all the LOTR and Hobbit premieres have been.
